Ok bad joke, but this infamous program claims Cardiff as its filming location so Who(!) better to take us on a time travel tour than the time-lord himself... with Tardis in tow obviously (retro good measure).

Doctor Who Up Close Cardiff
- is the immensely popular exhibition showcasing the shows props, costumes and monsters. Check out the actual costume as worn by David Tennant and yes there are darleks, who wouldn't be impressed by the talking bottle openers in the shop, it's a sci-fi wet dream but also an interesting outing for those mildly interested.'Quick Rose to the Tardis before someone mistakes us for the display'

Baylink is Cardiff's water taxi that runs every half past the hour with the first service at 10.30 from Mermaid quay to Cardiff Castle. The service runs every hour on the hour from Bute Park at the Castle to the Bay. This quaint and relaxing way to travel (unless you get easily sea sick) is a big hit.

The Romans built their first fort on the site over two thousand years ago, followed by the Normans and medieval lords. Take an impressive guided tour around the grounds and interior where each room has its own theme. Ornate fireplaces, carved stone, stained glass windows, it's the stuff of legend. Perhaps arrange for your very own medieval banquet for those celebratory occasions.
