Cafe Calcio

The place to be seen for all groovy young loafers and students alike. Laid back to the point of horizontal, the atmosphere in here instantly makes you want to roll up a—erm—Golden Virginia and chill out. Café Calcio is rumoured to have catered for one or two Welsh stars, and what's good enough for them is good enough for me. Highly recommended is The Fat Bastard breakfast deal, which arrives as a European food mountain on a tray, with as much tea and coffee as you can drink. Thursday to Saturday, Calcio plays host to local talent with various DJ's spinning all types of underground hip hop, jungle and drum'n' bass. Naturally, Sundays wind down a little with chilled–out tracks to prepare you for the week ahead. Celebs spotted here include the Manic Street Preachers, whose lead singer looks like he has enjoyed one Fat Bastard too many.
