Cafe Minuet
Tiny café/restaurant tucked into the end of Castle Arcade but, miniscule as it is, it's impossible to miss. Opera music – frequently accompanied by the owner himself – and the delicious smell of garlic mingle in the air creating a better advertisement for the place than a neon sign. All the pizza and pasta dishes are named after famous musicians, which we rather like. If there's no room to sit you can get your food to take away from the little kiosk at the side. With as much character as you can stuff into ten square metres of floor space and with the finest home cooked Italian food for miles around, this continues to be one of Cardiff's most treasured secrets.
