Maindy Pool & Track

A good outdoor track and way less creepy than the Taff trail. The pool is average but about as deep as a puddle of piss in a Cardiff alley and woe betide anyone who gets in the way of any of the die-hard swimming fanatics. Looking a little like overgrown children with their bright red floats, these nutters punish their bodies to the max in the sacred slow, medium and fast lane system. Cross their paths and you'll feel a little like a pizza bike taking on the 10.25 to Swansea. Maybe we're overreacting, but most of the time this pool seems anything but a place of leisure.
