New Theatre
This theatre may be small but has no trouble attracting the big productions. Fame, West Side Story and Romeo and Juliet have all crossed the Severn. Look out for midweek discounts where your ticket will probably be cheaper than your obligatory Maltesers/M&Ms/Mint Cornetto in the interval. With a central location, impressive décor and programmes that don't cost enough to cover the national debt of Ethiopia and then some, it's easy to see why this theatre is popular with the Cardiff folk. Warning: avoid the balcony at all costs, the 'seats' are so teeny there's barely room for one cheek.
