Harlech Bar
If you fancy a spot of afternoon tea and your driver isn't around to chauffeur you to The Ritz, pop into the recently renovated Thistle hotel and indulge in a pastry; a lovely way to wile away a rainy afternoon. Don't worry, you'll still feel like a lady or gent who lunches but the poshness of the venue doesn't translate to the prices on the menu: a visit to the Harlech won't render you homeless. But if that's a distinct possibility, and the purchasing of an overpriced scone really will push you over the edge towards bitter tragedy, stay away. You can just as easily buy a four-pack of jam tarts from Spar without financial ruin.
