If you're visiting Cardiff and want to be educated further than how to down five pints of Brains in as many minutes – or if you have a particular affinity to Welsh history – this museum should be part of your curriculum. Head for the dinosaur room to re-live Jurassic Park, avoid the ceramic galleries unless you enjoy china shopping; but do take a tour around Europe's finest French impressionist collection.
